Tonely is an iPhone and Android app that uses AI to compose original ringtones. We collect as little as possible. This document explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do.

What we collect

When you generate a ringtone, the following is sent to our backend:

• An anonymous device identifier generated on first launch (a random UUID stored locally on your phone). This lets us sync your library across reinstalls if you stay on the same device.
• The text prompt and tags you selected for the composition.
• The audio file Tonely generated for you, plus its title, mood label, and duration.
• The timestamp of generation.

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, microphone audio, location, Apple ID, or Google account information.

Third parties we send data to

To compose your ringtone, your prompt and tags are sent to MiniMax (api.minimax.io), an AI music generation provider. MiniMax processes the prompt to return audio. They retain inputs per their own policy.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or attribution SDKs. No Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Adjust, no Branch.

What we never do

• We never sell your data.
• We never share your data with advertisers.
• We never track you across other apps or websites.
• We never require an account or social sign-in.

Storage and security

Ringtones and metadata are stored on a server we operate (stenofast.com), encrypted in transit via HTTPS. Access to the database is restricted to maintenance operations; no third party has access.

Payments

On iPhone, all payments for ringtone packs are processed by Apple via the App Store using your Apple ID. On Android, payments are processed by Google Play using your Google account. Tonely never sees your payment method, billing address, Apple ID, or Google account. The respective store's privacy practices govern those transactions.

Your rights

You can delete any ringtone from your library at any time via the in-app delete control — this removes it from both your phone and our backend. You can also request full deletion of all data tied to your anonymous device ID by emailing us. Because we don't have your name or email on file, please send the request from a device that has the app installed and include the value of tonely.device.id.v1 if you can find it (or a screenshot of your library — that's enough for us to identify you).

Children

Tonely is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. The app is rated for general audiences on both the App Store and Google Play because it contains no objectionable content, but the AI service we use (MiniMax) is intended for general audiences.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be surfaced in the app itself before they take effect.
