By downloading, installing, or using Steno ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Steno is developed and operated by Caretopia Network Pvt Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Steno is a macOS application that converts voice to text. The App runs on your Mac and uses a combination of local and cloud-based transcription services to process your audio.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Steno for personal and commercial purposes on any Mac you own or control. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or distribute the App.

4. Plans and Pricing

Steno offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("Steno Pro"):

Prices are in USD and may vary by region due to local taxes applied by our payment provider. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Current pricing is listed on our Pricing page.

5. Payments and Billing

All payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. By subscribing to Steno Pro, you agree to Paddle's terms of service in addition to these terms.

Your use of Steno is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle your data.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Steno is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that transcriptions will be 100% accurate.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Steno, including but not limited to loss of data, lost profits, or business interruption. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Steno in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Steno after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For material changes affecting paid subscribers, we will provide 30 days' notice via email.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Steno at any time for violation of these terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling any active subscription.
